MIAMI --

Condition authorities are advocating Florida motorists to be careful for insurance ripoffs, among other road hazards.

Florida Chief Financial Officer Shaun Atwater states staged accidents and insurance fraud are leading to rates to increase.

Based on the Sun Sentinel ( http://sunsent.nl/oqOBmv), the insurance coverage industry states Florida motorists each pay one more $50 annually in insurance rates due to fraudulent personal injuries protection-related claims.

On Thursday, Atwater and authorities from Allstate Insurance and also the Miami-Dade Police Department shown how staged accidents can pressure rear-finish collisions.

Atwater urges motorists to call the condition fraud tip hotline, 800-378-0445, to report suspicious activity.

Bills attacking fraudulent personal injuries protection insurance claims were not authorized by the Legislature this season due to concerns about harming customers with legitimate claims, as well as their lawyers and doctors.
